Parsnip Puree & Finger Food

Parsnips are great first food, so give this Parsnip Puree & Finger Food recipe a go. They are one of the sweeter vegetables so your baby is much more likely to accept the flavour from the start.

Ingredients

2 large parsnips, peeled and chopped
Sunflower oil (for baking)

Method

PUREE

  1. Steam the parsnips for about 15 minutes.
  2. Drain reserving the cooking liquid.
  3. Puree in a blender adding some water or some of your baby’s usual milk, to make the desired consistency for your baby.

FINGER FOOD 

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C.
  2. Lay a piece of foil on a baking tray, brush with sunflower oil. Peel and trim small parsnips and cut larger parsnips into pieces about 6-7cm long.
  3. Place on the lined tray and brush with oil.
  4. Roast for 20-25 minutes or until tender.
